Robert first discovered his love for architecture through his grandmother, a prolific painter whose work showed a love for the simple vernacular architecture of rural North Carolina. His formal study of architecture began with a BA in Art History from Wake Forest University, followed by a move to New York where he earned a Master of Architecture from Columbia University.
After graduate school, Robert honed his craft at Robert A.M. Stern Architects in NYC, contributing to a wide array of projects, from bespoke single-family residences to glamorous urban high-rises.
He is a licensed architect and member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA).
Robert and his husband, Matt, recently breathed new life into a 1920s home, where they now create new memories with their son, Charlie.
